Celebrating a Community Victory for St Ives Bay

One year ago, our community came together to successfully stop geo-engineering experiments in St Ives Bay—an achievement made possible by three years of determined, grassroots campaigning. Our efforts didn’t just protect our local waters; they resonated far beyond Cornwall, showing the power of collective action in standing up to unaccountable decision-making.

This event is a chance to come together once again—to pause, reflect, and celebrate both our ocean and the strength of our community.

Join us for an uplifting afternoon featuring speeches, music, creativity, and connection, including a special talk from Sue Sayer MBE, who will share insights into the remarkable marine ecosystem of St Ives Bay revealed through ongoing dive surveys.

There will be:

Live music to bring us together

Flag displays and a beach march

Sign-making (materials provided—come early to create your own)

A symbolic shoreline affirmation of our shared commitment

And a joyful “People Paddle Power” moment—yes, that means toes in the sea!

✨ Wear red if you can to show unity and strength.

The main event begins at 2:00 pm, but we encourage you to arrive early to enjoy the atmosphere, make a sign, and listen to music as we set up.

1:30 pm – Arrival, flag setting & sign-making
2:00 pm – Celebration begins (music)
2:15 pm – Speeches (including Sue Sayer MBE)
2:45 pm – March up the beach with flags and drummers
3:10 pm – Shoreline affirmation
3:20 pm – People Paddle Power
3:30 pm – Close
