Lap the Lake | Swim Challenge

Swim Trevassack Lake in a challenge that does good

Hosted by Children’s Sailing Trust in collaboration with SureSwim Kernow, you’ll be able to swim in this incredible wild converted serpentine quarry on the Lizard Peninsula and make a difference to the communities and environment of Cornwall.

Swim Categories
Serpentine Swimmer | 2.15pm – 3pm
Ages 8 -15. For younger open-water swimmers, see how many laps of the shorter loop of the lake you can swim. Approximately 200 metre/loop.

Trevassack Quarrior | 3.15pm – 4pm or 4.15pm – 5pm
Ages 16+. Challenge yourself to lap the lake and see how many laps you can swim in 45 minutes. Approximately 700 metre/lap.

Relay Team | 3.15pm – 5pm
Ages 16+. Get together as a group of 2, 3 or 4 and see how long it takes you to complete 4 laps of the lake. Approximately 700 metre/lap.

Trevassack Lake, opening in autumn 2021, is an incredible accessible open-water swimming, sailing and watersports centre with holiday accommodation and café based on the Lizard Peninsula. Set to be Cornwall’s most accessible year-round swimming spot, this freshwater lake is in a converted serpentine quarry with exceptional water quality and is perfect for getting wet in all weathers.

Cost includes a Lap the Lake swim hat to wear during the event and to take away with you.

Prizes will be awarded for the greatest distance swum in the Serpentine Swimmer and Trevassack Quarrior categories, and fastest completion of 4 lake laps in the Relay Team category.

Children’s Sailing Trust is the charity that works to open up watersports opportunities for young people in Cornwall. Our new accessible venture at Trevassack Lake will, alongside sessions on the Helford River, increase our ability to get more local children out sailing, including those with physical disabilities or special educational needs.
