About this event
The studio is at the bottom of the garden, where it sits among hedgerows and apple trees, with wonderful views of Petherick Creek and the iconic Iron Bridge in the near distance. Linda captures the changing moods and colours in paintings and drawings. Linda’s work is representational, a layering of fleeting moments as they ebb and flow. Past, present, light, dark, winter and summer, are all captured in a palimpsest of the surrounding landscape. Linda often works ‘plein air’, taking large, unstretched canvas to the Creek, and working directly on the riverbed. The mud and tidal debris become part of the painting.
Tregonce House Studio is a lovely walk or cycle from Padstow along the Camel Trail, taking about twenty minutes if walking. Go over the Iron Bridge, and after fifty yards there is a turning on the right. This is quite a steep hill up to Tregonce village, but well worth it for the spectacular views when you get to the top.
