Straddling the River Camel and offering a bustling market environment, Wadebridge is home to the highest number of independent shops in the region.
Perhaps most well known for being a hot spot on the Camel Trail, a cycle route which runs from Padstow to Bodmin, Wadebridge’s popularity peaks in the summer months as locals and tourists alike flock to the town centre for exploration and diverse shopping options.
Each year, the renowned Royal Cornwall Show takes place just outside of Wadebridge and is Cornwall’s biggest, most popular annual event. Packed with entertainment, exhibitors and competitions, the Royal Cornwall Show promotes the very best of farming in Cornwall and invites attendees to sample and support Cornish-grown and Cornish-produced goods.
Another of Wadebridge’s biggest annual draws is its celebrated folk festival, which attracts big names from the folk circuit including Cara Dillon, 3 Daft Monkeys and Dougie Maclean. Cornwall’s longest-running festival, the event brings folk fans from all over the world into the heart of this charming market town.
Occupying a spot in the centre, Wadebridge Town Hall plays regular host to an antiques and vintage market, which is a must-visit for fans of jewellery, art glass, ceramics and pottery.
Visitors to Wadebridge should also take the chance to check out Camel Creek Adventure Park, where kids and adults alike can explore rides and attractions all year round, rain or shine.
