Learn the art of bookbinding in this fabulous ARTchive workshop!

Join Nina Fenner for this one day workshop and make a classic ‘case bound’ hardback book from scratch, folding and sewing the pages then making a hard cover.

These make wonderful notebooks or sketchbooks and this technique can then be used to bind your own books with any paper of any size.

We will be looking at old books in the Kresen Kernow archive and library for inspiration, which will help put our bookbinding in an historical context and help gain an understanding of the many different binding techniques over the years.

No previous experience necessary. All materials are provided.

If you have any particular paper you would like to use on the cover do bring it along.

We will be using pva glue so please wear an apron or old clothes.

Pre-booking is essential as spaces are limited.

The workshop costs £10, which is payable on booking.

Please note, refreshments will not be provided. The new Ginkgo café at Kresen Kernow will be open on the day, serving drinks, cakes, snacks and lunch items (the Gingko café will be open until 2pm) or you are welcome to bring your own refreshments.
