Leach Pottery will be here at Porthmeor Studios to work with our young artists aged 11 to 16.

We are excited to host Leach Pottery here at Porthmeor Studios to work with our young artists!

Taking inspiration from natural forms, young artists will be taught how to make their own press mould plates to be fired and glazed. They will experiment with slip decoration methods such as slip trailing, feathering and sgraffito.

This session will teach them basic use of a one part press mould and an introduction into slip decoration methods. Young artists will leave with one piece that will be glazed and fired at the Leach Pottery and sent to them up to 12 weeks after the course has finished. Come in old clothes please!

For young artists aged 11-16, this group helps young people connect with their creativity and get to know contemporary art practices.
