About this event
In 2020, Marina Kemp’s debut novel, Nightingale, thrust her into the limelight of critical acclaim when she was shortlisted for the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award. Her latest, The Unwilding, was nominated for the Royal Society of Literature’s Encore Award, as well as being named a Guardian Book of the Year:
The Unwilding lays bare the power, desire and the secrets all families carry. In its opening pages, fledgling writer Zoe is in thrall to the famed novelist Don Travers and feels she has made it when invited to his Sicilian holiday home. But she soon finds that her fascination for his children and wife Lydia runs deeper. Don’s youngest, Nemony, watches as her older siblings begin to navigate the treacherous waters of the adult world, little knowing that this one week will have far-reaching consequences for them all.
Lin Rogers is a member of the LitFest organising team, has worked in the marketing communications industry and is freelance corporate copywriter.
