About this event
Sterts are thrilled to present the Cornish preview performance of ‘Mermaid of Zennor’ by Gareth Churcher for the Horizons Celtiques stadium show at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient, before the delegation head to Brittany to represent Cornwall.
2026 is the Year of Cornwall at the Heart of the Celtic Sea at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient, a ten-day celebration of Celtic culture, music and dance in Brittany that attracts around 950,000 visitors every August. This summer, Cornwall is the main focus of the festival and will be represented by an exciting programme of 15 performing groups, artists, makers and volunteers. Among them are Celtic Male Ensemble, Senyans Kernow and Kekezza, who will join forces for five nights in a new commission by Gareth Churcher.
Join us at Sterts for the chance to be in the audience for the premiere performance of new composition by Gareth Churcher for the Lorient Interceltic Festival and a preview performance by Celtic Male Ensemble.
This showcase event will feature performances from Celtic Male Ensemble, Senyans Kernow – Le Kleub, and The Mermaid of Zennor.
