About this event
Slow down, observe, and reconnect with your creativity by tuning into both your inner world and the surrounding landscape. Through mindful walks, drawing, and painting, you’ll capture the essence of the Cornish coastline around St Ives.
Take a break from day-to-day life and join artist Kitty Hillier as she shares the tools and techniques developed through her practice. This three-day course invites you to slow down, spend time in nature, and work intuitively, inspired by the studies of Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, whose work responded to the sea and rugged Cornish landscape.
Working from coves, cliffs, and shoreline, you’ll follow guided exercises that help you draw inspiration from the sights and sounds around you. A walk across Porthmeor Beach becomes part of the creative process – drawing, collecting materials, and responding in the moment. By focusing on breath and awareness, you’ll learn to work more intuitively, translating experience into expressive visual language.
Suitable for beginners, with small class sizes in a stunning studio overlooking the beach in St Ives.
