About this event
Get ready to dive into the mesmerizing world of surf and sea poetry! Join us at St Ives Arts Club for a spoken word performance filled with captivating words, rhythmic beats, and the spirit of the ocean.
This all-women poetry collective brought you ‘Morvoren: the poetry of sea swimming’ in 2022. Supported by Arts Council England, they are back with ‘Mordardh’, which is Cornish for breaking wave. Whether you’re a seasoned surfer, sea swimmer or simply someone who appreciates the power of words, this event is for you. Let the talented poets transport you to the waves, where adrenaline meets tranquillity, and where surf culture intertwines with the beauty of nature.
Led by Ella Walsworth-Bell and a shoal of mer-poets…
Ella lives, breathes and writes sea poetry- she has collaborated with surfers, swimmers, poets, and Alice Bray, marine photographer.
Also appearing on stage – Kerry Vincent, Kate Barden, Abigail Ottley.
Come along – find out why half of Cornwall gets on a wetsuit and heads down the beach when the surf’s up (yes, the other half will be sea swimming!).
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to experience the magic of surf and sea poetry. All welcome – see you there! Tickets available through Eventbrite.
