About this event
‘I do love nothing in the world so well as you. Is not that strange?’
Set in 1945, join us for a joyous, vibrant and hilarious production of one of Shakespeare’s best loved comedies. The war has ended, and Messina’s young men have returned ready for peace, celebration and … romance? Hero and Claudio are in love, while Beatrice and Benedick are in a perpetual ‘merry war’ of wits and wills. But not everyone has come back unscathed and the spread of misinformation has its consequences. Suitable for all ages, enjoy a perfect summer’s night showcasing a vivacious ensemble, razor-sharp wit, bold confrontations, and live music.

bout the company: Based in the South West, Sun & Moon Theatre specialise in Shakespeare and their ethos is making Shakespeare for all, focusing on producing accessible and entertaining productions for a wide range of audiences. They love to explore the text, working with Quarto and First Folio scripts as a springboard to actors’ development, and always ask ‘Why this play now?’. They produce indoor productions, open-air productions, workshops and one-to-one sessions. They adapt their show to every audience and performance space and their goal is always to entertain and invite their audiences to share in brilliant stories, text and characters that have stood the test of time.
