About this event
Don’t miss this opportunity to join MJUK Music and Arts in an extravaganza exploring the best music from Broadway to the West End, the Royal Albert Hall to the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. This is a celebration of the 10th anniversary for The Chris Treglown Foundation Fund, a Cornish charity helping aspiring singers on their musical journey (www.christreglown.co.uk).
The series of concerts feature Harry Apps who is currently playing Marius in Les Miserables in London’s West End, Daniel Holley who played Rusty and Dustin in Starlight Express in Bochum, Germany, Seumas Begg who played Gloucester, Jamy & Grey in the Donmar Warehouse production of Henry V, Megan Strachan who plays Fiordiligi in Cardiff Opera’s Cosi fan tutte, Emily Apps who headlines the show Doris Day a Life in Song in London’s Piccadilly and Megan Yates a solo singer just returning from her world tour as well as leading up-and-coming singers studying at Conservatoires and specialist music colleges.
All proceeds go to The Chris Treglown Foundation Fund charity. You will enjoy performances drawing from mega musicals, old and new, such as West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, Waitress, Hunchback of Notre Dame and Les Miserables, together with some of the most iconic music from the world of opera.
The first event is on the Platt at Port Isaac at 5.30pm on Tuesday 16th August where the singers will entertain their audience in a very informal setting. This is a non ticketed event but any donations will be gratefully received. This concert will be followed by 5 ticketed concerts at Polzeath (Wednesday 17th August 6.30pm), Truro (Friday 19th August 7pm), Sterts Theatre (Sunday 21st August 5pm), Pencarrow House (Monday 22nd August 7pm) and St Endellion Church (Tuesday 23rd August 7pm). Tickets range from £10 – £25 depending on the event and details of how to book each event are on the charity’s website www.christreglown.co.uk.
