About this event
Nae Pasaran – ‘In a Scottish town in 1974, factory workers refuse to carry out repairs on warplane engines in an act of solidarity against the violent military coup in Chile’
Experience this heart warming documentary in 99p’s signature style of Eat-Breathe-Watch-Discuss. Uniting our communities together and chatting about this historical act of solidarity whilst reflecting on current affairs. Specifically relating this to the recent maintenance and repair work carried out by A&P Falmouth on the Bibby Stockholm boat, designed to house 506 asylum seekers during a period of limbo whilst they await for the home office to make their decision on these peoples lives, many of which are either fleeing conflict or some form of hardship from their home country and seeking a new life in the UK.
There is no right or wrong thing to do, we just want to help facilitate and offer a safe space for discussions around controversial issues to take place.
