A classical music concert featuring Kanai, MacCunn, Chabrier and Vaughan Williams

Nature in Music continues our series of concerts featuring female composers.

The programme is MacCunn’s Land of the Mountain and Flood, Kikuko Kanai’s: Ryukyu where the Deigo flowers blossom, Steven Verhelst Song for Japan, Chabrier’s Pastoral Suite and Vaughan Williams’ Folk Song Suite. There will be a short talk about Kanai by Mai Kawabata from the Royal College of Music and the Open University.

Song for Japan is for solo trombone and orchestra, the soloist is Gareth Churcher.
