About this event
This year marks 30 years of painting and leading painting workshops as a professional artist in Cornwall. I have decided to celebrate this with a retrospective Open Studios occasion from all stages of my artistic development ranging from watercolour to ink to mixed media.
I will be displaying examples of work throughout this period, all on show in my new garden gallery, where you are welcome to relax and also enjoy the planting. On the artistic front there will be new hand-embellished giclees and photo-montages. Also, archive-quality prints/reproductions available in any size (framed or un-framed) from my collection of west Cornwall landscapes, including work resulting from my partnership with The National Trust, Godolphin. The estate, where I was artist-in-residence for several years, is a short walk from my studio. To compliment the above, I have a selection of framed and un-framed watercolours on display.
I am an established landscape painter well-known for my adventurous use of watercolour. My early work demonstrates my use of traditional techniques, sometimes painting St. Ives landscapes in high-key, reflecting the wonderful light there. Some of these early watercolours are on display here while many more are in collections all over the world. The later work is an example of my much more experimental techniques.
I have exhibited in Cornwall all my painting life and have had my work regularly at The National Trust Trelissick Gallery, Truro and the historic St. Ives Society of Artists Galleries, where I was also Chair for 6 years.
I am very proud of my work over the past 30 years and how it has developed and it would be very rewarding for me to share that re-connection with you.
I am very aware of the current situation and everything will be done to keep you well and safe in our lovely garden.
Address: Evergreen Cottage, Townshend, Hayle TR27 6AQ.
