Nine Lessons and Carols

Offered every year in Truro Cathedral since 1880, the service of Nine Lessons and Carols reflects in words and music on this special time as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Truro Cathedral Choir will be singing at this service with its boy choristers.

Due to limited capacity, this service will be ticketed via the Eventbrite booking system. Tickets will be released in two phases, the first release on Monday 7 December at 9am and the second on Friday 11 December at 6pm.

The cathedral community warmly invites you to join them for the Festival of Nine Lessons, Midnight Mass and Christmas Day services and would like to offer the opportunity to worship and give comfort at this time for as many people as possible. By careful arrangement ensuring social distancing and Covid-19 restriction rules are followed, 160 seats will be made available per service. Please be aware to accommodate this number of people some seats will be placed in areas where there will be an obstructed view. This Christmas, and indeed throughout the year, attendance at services and entry to the cathedral remains free. The cathedral relies on public donations to meet its costs. Truro Cathedral has been significantly financially affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and is finding ways to support its community through activities such as live-streaming.
