About this event
Founded on the belief that everyone can dance, Nos Danza is a project dedicated to sharing the joy & transformative power of dance. Led by professional dancer Katie Lusby, Nos Danza runs open level classes & workshops in Falmouth & Newlyn. Current schedule: Dancing Together* on Monday mornings 9.45-11.15am at Old School Studio in Newlyn; Beginners Floorwork** on Wednesday evenings 6.30-8pm at King Charles Hall in Falmouth; and Dancing Together on Saturday mornings 10.30am-12pm at King Charles Hall in Falmouth.
*Dancing Together is a free-form practice in which there are no steps to learn – you are guided into your own way of moving alone, in pairs, and as a whole group. No experience necessary – everyone is welcome!
**Beginners Floorwork is a flowing and dynamic style of contemporary dance that takes place at a low level, close to the ground. Floorwork is a fun and playful world that gives you the benefits of a full body work-out while also promoting your creativity and flow. These classes are for anyone who enjoys physical activity and wants to explore new movements and learn new skills in a creative way. Whether you’re passionate about dancing, climbing, martial arts, or simply intrigued by functional movement, this is for you. No previous experience in a specific movement practice is necessary – absolute beginners welcome – but a reasonable level of fitness and mobility is required for this class. Participants should be comfortable sitting kneeling, and be able to bear weight through the hands and wrists (e.g. you can “bear crawl” with your knees off the floor).
