About this event
Join us for a night of spoken word and live music to celebrate the sea on World Ocean Day, Monday June 8th.
An evening of words and music for the Ocean, featuring the Mor Poets, an all women poetry collective based in Cornwall, alongside local Penzance poets, as well as a special reading from Morag Smith’s Oceana – an anthology based on Morag’s time spent with the marine plastics pollution charity, Clean Ocean Sailing.
Local musician’s performing on the night include Louella Jade Eke, Catrina Davies, Kelsey Michael and Tim Ridley, so you’re in for a rare treat!
Open mic spots will be available for people to share a poem or song on the theme(s) of the Ocean/Environment/Sustainability – subject to time constraints!
There’ll also be a small book stall, so you can take home some salty sea-themed poetry, and immerse yourself in the ocean from the dry of an armchair.
Pocketful of Stones are hosting the event, so why not indulge in one of their tantalising Dr Squid gins or King of Prussia rums? Located at 13 Causewayhead, Penzance, doors open 6.30pm, with the evening starting 7pm prompt.
Free tickets can be reserved via Eventbrite, ticket link below
Donations on the door appreciated, to raise funds for Sustainable PZ and its work to help create a thriving future for the town that puts people, place and planet first. Protecting and nurturing the beautiful environment around us, is integral to all that. www.sustainablepz.co.uk
