A fundraising event in support of Wheal Martyn's growing educational programme.
On Sunday 15 September, get involved in a sponsored walk, starting from Wheal Martyn. As a charity (Wheal Martyn Trust), we are organising the walk as a fundraising event, in support of our growing educational programme.
The walk will start at Wheal Martyn at 11am, meeting in the atrium. Please bring along a picnic! We will be walking along the clay trails towards the iconic Sky Tip, before heading onto the West Carclaze site to the highest point, where there will be an opportunity for participants to enjoy their picnics, overlooking St Austell Bay and beyond. The walk will then continue through the woods and around the front of the Sky Tip, and finally along the wooded trail, rejoining the clay trail to Wheal Martyn for light refreshments.
The walk will be approximately four miles long, including some hill walking which can be uneven underfoot. This is a unique opportunity to access areas at West Carclaze which are not currently open to the public.
If you would like to take part, please register. We encourage you to aim to raise approximately £50 or above as sponsorship.
