About this event
AMATA’s talk series is a great opportunity to meet some of the artists that we will be working with over the forthcoming year. Find out about their current projects, inspiration and practice. Ask questions and share your thoughts in a live Q&A session, or just listen if you prefer.
Tonight’s featured artists are Freya Smith and Jack Williams. Together they are award-winning Welsh musical theatre creators and founders of Bottle Cap Theatre, which aims to create new, bold and accessible musical theatre.
Their work includes musicals Ride (Winner of Vault’s Festival Show of the Week), The Limit (Winner of Vault Festival’s People’s Choice Award and Origins Award for Outstanding New Work), The Suicide Shop (Shortlisted for the MTI Stiles and Drewe Mentorship Award) and song-cycle Part A (Edinburgh Fringe sell-out show). In 2020 they were finalists in the Stiles & Drewe Best New Song Prize for songs Ride and Sparks’ and Freya was shortlisted for the Cameron Mackintosh Composer Residency. In October 2020 Central School of Speech and Drama will be producing The Limit. In 2019 Freya and Jack were recipients of Wilton Music Hall’s Plays Without Decor scheme and were supported by British Science Week when creating The Limit.
