Oral History Archive – Online Exhibition

Nearly 20 years ago former Geevor miner Cyril Honey and the Geevor Learning Department began to conduct recorded interviews with former miners and characters from the local area.

The interviews cover various topics from mining, fishing, farming, war and how the area has changed over the years.

Using Soundcloud as a platform, Geevor will begin to release recordings online, available to all. The mine is hugely indebted to Cyril for the many hours of work he put into creating well over 100 recordings over a 15 year period and to all those who shared their memories and stories.
