About this event
I usually paint on wooden panels, mostly with oils. The backgrounds are worked to capture the spirit of place and a particular habitat where closely observed flora, fungi and often wildlife emerge. As well as being viewed from a distance, observers are invited to look closely at the work to see what they may discover. Awareness of mankind’s essential rootedness in the environment has never been more urgent. I hope the work will encourage us all to slow down and look more closely at the amazing world we inhabit and the importance of protecting it.
