About this event
Join artist Karen Howse for a relaxed walk identifying & discovering wild plants as we go in the lanes of Launceston. Beginning & ending at St Thomas church, by the Kensey river, Launceston. In Lawrence House Museum there is a giant 1800’s Herbarium (collection of dried & pressed plants) from the 1800’s collected by local man & pharmacist William Wise 200 years ago in the lanes of North Cornwall. Press a few plants on the day & contribute to the modern day People’s Herbarium for the museum. See if we can find any of the plants Wise collected & follow in his footsteps.
This is a Bright Sparks FEAST & Cornwall Museums Partnership funded project connecting people in North Cornwall with place & plants through walks & printmaking. In partnership with Launceston’s Lawrence House Museum & Launceston Library. Look out for more Walk mornings & Print days inspired by William Wise’s 18th Century Herbarium.
