About this event
Enjoy the beautiful area of St Ives with guided workshops; competitions; international participation; and a chance to support The Alzheimers Society.
All workshops are held outdoors taking place in or close to the harbour/beach area. Those involving a short walk, this is no more than 1.5 miles (2.4 km) …. you do not have to walk far for great views in St Ives!
There are six workshop themes to choose from, each available on different dates and are for any level of experience from beginners onwards. Suitable for both phone cameras & digital cameras.
Workshop themes include capturing the beach and harbour at different times of the day; the fisherman’s cottages and back streets; working fishermen and local wildlife if we are lucky …. besides the resident seagulls!
Short walks take us to great vantage points for scenic views and whatever else we may come across.
Accessibility requirements vary between workshops held close to local facilities.
There is the option for a carer or guardian to attend with you.
Guidance is tailored to the experience of all individuals on each workshop, which include pre-workshop preparation information and post-workshop summary sheets, plus an upgrade option for other support.
You can enter a free competition with a chance to win a prize and have your image displayed.
If you are unable to join us in St Ives, there will be a photography challenge and competition, with a prize for the winner in our Absent Friends category.
A percentage of the money raised will go to our fundraising for The Alzheimers Society, UK. A charity that was chosen by my current and previous students.
I recently moved to the area and will be extending my photography training into St Ives. For the past 25 years, I have taught photography at a number of schools, colleges, for charities and run my own workshops.
I look forward to meeting you all and guiding you to take some great photographs of a lovely part of Cornwall, plus answer your questions or just talk photography …. or drink tea and eat cake! Dave.
