POP UP PK SUMMER OF FUN

This August PK will be hosting some fun activities.

This summer PK will be hosting a month of fun events and activities throughout August.
Our Learning Facilitators will be popping up around PK with things to do for the whole family to enjoy!

Events will run weekly, Tuesday – Saturday, 3 – 31 August.

Our events are:
> Tue – LED CABLE GAME / 13:00 – 15:00 / Free Event
Test your Morse code skills and race your friends on our LED cable game!

> Wed – CABLE SOUNDS / 13:00 – 15:00 / Free Event
Play an acoustic game on the cables, experimenting with the different sounds that the sculpture can make. Experience a fun activity, bringing together all ages as you learn about communication.

>Thu – MINI PK TOURS / 13:00
Join Learning Facilitator Paul Tyreman to explore one simple discovery that made the telegraph possible – we will share some of our favourite things that show this discovery in action!

> Fri – PLANET PK PRINTING / 13:00 – 15:00 / Free Event
Take part in Planet PK printing and learn about the wildlife in the PK Valley and the museum’s environmental initiative. Choose from an array of coloured paper and inks and print a badger, seal, or owl as well as other animals. You can take your wonderful print home to hang on your wall.

> Sat – CABLE LONG JUMP / 13:00-15:00 / Free Event
Can you jump from Porthcurno to India? Come to Porthcurno beach to try out a traditional Greek Olympic sport – the long jump. Find out how far you can jump while learning about the places that the cable travelled through on its way to India. An activity that really is for all ages. Young children will delight at jumping across the world, while adults can enjoy friendly competition in discovering how many metres they can jump while trying to beat the longest jump of the day!
