About this event

Learn how to throw on a Potter's wheel

An introduction to throwing for beginners. Participants will encounter clay preparation, wedging, centering clay on the wheel and throwing basic cylinders. The workshop is taught by one of our pottery tutors in small groups of 5. Clay and a basic tool kit is provided; please bring additional tools if you wish to use them along with an apron and hand towel.

Firing is not included but you are welcome to take your pots home with you and have them fired elsewhere. Please bring a box with you to take away your pots.

Details

There is limited onsite parking please use our overflow car park at St. Johns in the fields Church (TR26 2HG) which is on the right hand side past the Leach Pottery, opposite the Fire Station, as you travel uphill. Please park in the main car park around by the church hall and leave a note in your car window to say you are on a course at the Leach Pottery.
