Curated by Judi and Brian Green, the show presents exciting new work from our stellar roster of gallery artists and welcomes newly represented sculptor Chandler McLellan and painters Tom Climent and Andrew Wykes to exhibit with us for the first time.
We are so thrilled to be able to share with you an exciting way to view art in our gallery as a 3D virtual tour. Navigation around the gallery is simple and fun, with no social distancing required. All the work is available to discover, choose and purchase in the gallery, online, via Instagram and on the website. The gallery offers a bespoke service to individuals including art consultancy, framing and shipping.
Tom Climent is a painter based in Cork City. He is a graduate of the Crawford College of Art and Design where he received a BA in 1995 and a Masters by Research in 2011. His work over the last twenty-five years has varied from paintings of figurative, urban and landscape subjects. His most recent work tends to focus on the creation of a structured space while investigating the boundaries between abstraction and representation.
His work is in the collections of The Central Bank, The National Treasury Management Agency, University College Cork, University College Dublin, University of Limerick, Smurfit Business School, AIB Bank, The National Self-Portrait Collection of Ireland, NCB Stockbrokers, The Cork Opera House, Cork City Council, The Office of Public Works, Cork Institute of Technology, The American Embassy in Dublin, Deloitte, Investec, Allianz, Ibec and private collections in Ireland, UK, Spain, France, USA & Canada.
Andrew Wykes is a painter who was born just outside of London in 1960. He studied at Richmond upon Thames College as well as Epsom School of Art and Design, where he received his undergraduate qualifications in fine art. He received his MFA in painting from American University in Washington, D.C. and has taught art for over 37 years in the UK, Belgium and the U.S. Wykes has exhibited nationally and internationally, and his paintings are included in numerous collections in the U.S. and Europe. He received Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grants in 2009, 2013, 2015 and 2019. He also holds the Agnes Hulburd Conger Prize for Excellence in the Humanities for outstanding research as a painter from Hamline University.
In 2009, he was awarded a fellowship at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Mayo, Ireland. where he teaches landscape drawing and painting workshops during the summers. He is one of four Minnesota painters featured in filmmaker Kristen Lowe’s documentary Painting the Place Between. Wykes is a professor of painting at Hamline University in St. Paul.
