Live Music by the Sea

We are very happy to welcome for the first time and support the wonderful talent of Rachael Watson, a 19 year old singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from North Cornwall. She has many years of experience performing live both individually and in wider collaborations across the UK. Since the experience of lockdown, she has created a host of individual original material, performing it via online streaming and subsequently live, including at Boardmasters this year as well as at local pubs and events. She takes inspiration from many genres including folk, soul and jazz, as well as a wider context to influence her songs. One of her songs, ‘Byghan Porth’ (Cornish for little bays and coves), inspired by the beauty of rugged Cornish landscapes and rural life, won the MusicEL, Musically Creative Challenge competition, as quoted below.
