About this event
If we believe that storytelling is fundamental to human survival and the ability to thrive, why is it that writers often feel ‘blocked’? Psychotherapist and writer, Bridget Holding puts forward the theory that we often apply an unconscious structure and technique to telling stories and that, by understanding this, we can build confidence in our own writing. She explores how this will enable us to both write with less effort and ignore those inner judgements that previously undermined projects.
Bridget Holding is a writer, university adult education tutor and lecturer (University of Exeter, Open University) and arts and body-based trauma-trained psychotherapist (MA in the therapeutic uses of the arts).
She’s given talks and facilitated courses at many organisations and festivals of literature.
There’s nothing she likes better than to turn traditional creative writing teaching methods upside down. The London School of Economics talked of her ‘revitalising traditional creative writing teaching’.
She’s also the founder of Wild Words.
