About this event
I paint contemporary botanical pieces, from large scale to small detailed works “the essential part of the process for me is to grow, pick and photograph the flowers I use in my work In order to capture the unique forms created by nature. Spring into summer is always so exciting, waiting to see what will emerge. Every bloom has its own personality from big blousy peonies, the intricate structure of a dahlia or the elegance of a rose. Placing the flowers against dark backgrounds really makes them pop, also using light backgrounds gives them a sense of airy ness and calm”.
This year I have also been experimenting with i-phone photography. Capturing the light on the sea or mist on the land.
When arriving at Jewell Arts you will be warmly welcomed by Rebecca and Simon Jewell. We have 3 large rooms which are filled with original paintings, photography, prints and cards by Rebecca and Simon and beautiful Serpentine, driftwood sculptures and jewellery by Don Taylor, so there is sure to be something for every taste and budget. Parking is available on site for 3/4 cars and level access is available throughout the building.
So come and relax in the garden with a cup of tea and a slice of cake where we will more than happy to talk to you about our artistic processes.
