About this event
Based on the hard-hitting and beautiful testimonies of women affected by breast cancer, and directed by Angela El-Zeind, Rebel Boob is a performance that focuses on the recovery period following a life-changing diagnosis. The period when you are picking up the pieces of your life and trying to fit them into your ‘new normal.
Using prose, multimedia elements, and choreography by Katie DaleEverett, this performance explores themes of body image, sex, mental health, relationships, identity, and mortality; and is about finding solidarity, hope, humanity, and humour, during difficult times.
Rebel Boob is not doom and gloom, or about chemotherapy or death (though we may talk about both a little bit!)…this play is a funny, truthful, hopeful, emotional rollercoaster, about life; about re-evaluating who you are, living in the present, and the unexpected silver linings along the way.
