he event is in aid of the ‘Red Panda Network’, which is establishing the world’s first protected area dedicated to red pandas. The Panchthar-Ilam-Taplejung (PIT) Red Panda Protected Forest has the densest population of red pandas in Nepal and is part of the Kangchenjunga Singhalila Complex: one of the most biologically diverse places on earth. It is threatened by human population growth and expanding development. Community projects including tree planting is underway to improve the habitat for Red Pandas.
We are supporting two projects via the ‘Red Panda Network’ which is establishing the world’s first protected area dedicated to Red Pandas ‘The Panchthar-Ilam-Taplejung (PIT) Protected Forest’ and ‘Plant a Red Panda Home’ which is restoring core Red Panda habitat in Nepal.
Paradise Park’s staff fundraised and run the very popular ‘Red Panda Experiences’ and at the time of writing have raised over £12,650 for these projects.
