About this event
Redruth Town Markets is a vibrant monthly artisan market held in the heart of Redruth, Cornwall, bringing together local traders, makers, musicians, performers & the wider community in a lively & welcoming town-centre setting. Held on the first Saturday of every month from 10am–2pm at the Buttermarket & surrounding streets, the market celebrates everything handmade, sustainable, creative and proudly local.
The market has become a popular destination for both residents and visitors travelling from across Cornwall and beyond, attracted by its unique atmosphere, talented artisan traders and strong community spirit. Rooted in Redruth’s long history as a traditional Cornish market town, the market continues this heritage while supporting modern independent businesses, artists, bakers, growers and craftspeople.
Visitors can explore a wide variety of stalls selling artisan breads, organic eggs, local pies, homemade cakes, brownies, chocolates, chutneys, jams and fermented foods alongside handmade jewellery, textiles, ceramics, willow baskets, soaps, vintage homewares, photography, artwork, plants and flowers. Many traders create one-off pieces and use locally sourced ingredients or reclaimed materials, making every stall unique.
Entertainment is a key part of the Redruth Town Markets experience. Local musicians perform throughout the day, creating a welcoming atmosphere, while seasonal celebrations often include Morris dancers, Maypole festivities, dance groups and community performances that bring extra colour and energy to the market.
The market is a place where people gather, connect & support local talent. Visitors are encouraged to explore the wider town, inc Redruth’s Indi shops, cafés, galleries & creative spaces along Fore Street & within the Victorian arcade.
Easily accessible by road & rail, with nearby parking inc Fair Meadow car park, Redruth Town Markets offers an authentic Cornish experience full of creativity, local flavour, live entertainment & local pride.
