John Law – “one of Europe’s most adventurous pianists” – presents his stunning new music and visuals project: Renaissance. Mixing samples of renaissance vocal music, taken from the Golden Age of European polyphony, with elements from minimalism, jazz and ambient chill and with mesmerisingly beautiful visuals as a backdrop, the resulting experience is one of beauty, meditation and mindfulness.
Alongside John’s keyboards, the music features interweaving lines from jazz saxophonist Jon Lloyd and the visuals are created by touring artist from the supergroup Tangerine Dream: Patrick Dunn.
Mixing Early music vocal samples with beautiful ambient electronics, floating saxophone/keyboards and with stunning, live, interactive visuals.
Classical music meets minimalism and ambient chill! Creating a total sensory effect of beauty, meditation and mindfulness.

Imagine Garbarek and the Hilliard Ensemble meets ambient chill!
Internationally-acclaimed jazz and classical pianist/composer John Law has created this stunningly beautiful experience called Renaissance. Samples of sacred vocal music from the 15th and 16th centuries, sourced from composers such as Tallis, Victoria, Palestrina and Josquin, are treated subtly and morphed into backing pads and soundscapes, evocative of both early music and contemporary ambient styles, over which Law’s midi keyboards and saxophone, from Jon Lloyd, weave lines of simplicity and beauty.
And as a backdrop to the music, vj artist from electro supergroup Tangerine Dream, Patrick Dunn, presents a panoply of gorgeous images, suggestive of cathedral architecture and stained glass, as well as abstract images of colour and shape, everything performed live to the changing music.
The result is an intense, meditational experience, and one of great hope and beauty, much-needed in these modern times.
Come along and be transported! Let the world stop for a brief period while you take in the colours and sounds of worlds old and new. And enjoy the total experience of Renaissance.
