About this event
Not just another tribute to Deep Purple, Rainbow or Whitesnake but a band rooted and connected with the actual bands themselves.
Founded in 2018 the band has quickly found itself headlining festivals and playing venues across the UK before COVID-19 wiped out their tour schedule. Now returning with a vengeance, Rising are looking to bring their show to you!
Rising From The Deep features 5 seasoned musicians who all have the accolade of having worked with the actual bands themselves or connected members. *Band members per show are available subject to other touring/work commitments.
Lead vocalist Kenzo has cut his teeth playing and fronting various bands in venues across the UK and Europe, working directly with Bernie Marsden and Alaska in the 80s. Guitarist Jim is our master of the strings and fretboard having spent years backing rock’s finest including Kim Wilde, Belinda Carlisle and playing with members of Judas Priest, Uriah Heep and many others. Jim’s counterpoint in harmony and drive delivering a dirty, screaming Hammond organ and huge arsenal of synth patches, Mini Moog, orchestral sounds and piano is our keys wizard Danny. Danny has close connections to the Purple family tree having spent a good deal of time having tutorage one on one from both Jon Lord and Don Airey.
Both of them have helped shape and guide him on his journey giving him a vast ‘weaponry’ of tips, tricks, riffs, runs and secrets that make the sound of Purple and Rainbow a cut above others. He also counts former Rainbow keys players David Stone and Tony Carey among his friends/mentors who are always keen to hear his latest work and offer any advice. On the drums hailing from Australia is Darren Lee. Bought up on an eclectic mix of powerful classic rock including of course AC/DC and Purple, Darren played with original NWOBM legends Weapon before spending four years drumming with glam rock legends The Bay City Rollers.
