Rue – Live at The Acorn, Penzance

Rue returns to South Cornwall for a special headline performance at The Acorn Theatre – her first ever at the beloved Penzance venue.
A familiar face to many in the Cornish music scene, Rue has built a loyal following through her heartfelt solo sets – but this time, she’s bringing the full trio. Joined by Jake on bass and Barnaby on drums, expect a richer, bolder sound that showcases Rue’s music at a whole new level.
Rue is a rising voice in UK music – a soulful vocalist, skilled guitarist, and magnetic performer whose jazz-infused sound has earned support from BBC Introducing, Jazz FM, and Spotify’s Jazz UK playlist. Her 2024 singles, complete with cinematic videos, have seen her tipped as “a future star” by Dart Music Festival and featured on BBC Radio 3’s Round Midnight.
Influenced by artists like Hiatus Kaiyote, Madison Cunningham, and Kimbra, Rue blends contemporary soul, jazz, and groove-driven songwriting into a style all her own. She’s recently graced stages at The Great Escape, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Boardmasters, and supported legends including Gabrielle, Keane, and Martha Reeves & the Vandellas.
