About this event
John Rutter is perhaps best known as the composer of many popular Christmas carols but his Requiem, composed in 1985, is widely praised as ‘simply sublime’. St Austell Choral Society will be joined by soprano Holly-Anna Hawkes and an instrumental ensemble including harp, cello, oboe, flute and percussion, along with Anthony Trodd on the organ, for this spring concert. Conducted by distinguished composer Paul Drayton, they will also perform some English part songs, including a humorous setting of Old Mother Hubbard by Victor Hely-Hutchinson.
