About this event
Julian Konczak’s sacred sound feature documentary Tracing Transcendental Tone has received several awards in India, where it was filmed, and is now screening with a Q&A at the Capitol Cinema Bodmin on 19th March, following several sold-out events on its UK tour.
The film follows a pilgrimage through the sacred sounds of India — a land of many faiths, including Vedanta, Islam, and Buddhism. Combining striking visual imagery with a richly layered soundtrack, it invites audiences on an immersive sonic journey into the world’s great spiritual sound traditions. Interviews, performances, and natural soundscapes — from bubbling hot springs to nocturnal insect symphonies, from mountain winds to temple drums and mantras — weave together an evocative audio-visual tone poem. The result is an intimate, transformative experience of sound’s healing and unifying power.
