About this event
Sandy Horton originally trained in textiles later followed by a course in architectural stained glass. Her interest developed in fused glass after completing a post-graduate diploma at Central St Martin’s, where she won the William De Morgan prize for glass.
Now living and working in Cornwall, Sandy produces glass that is inspired by the light and patterns of the Cornish land and seascapes. She takes pleasure in the challenges that glass offers and enjoys working directly with glass creating different textures and effects, taking full advantage of ‘accidents’ that occur in or out of the kiln creating unintended, but often exciting effects.
Glass is a fascinating medium and many people comment on how they never tire of a piece of Sandy’s glass because with ever changing reflection, transmission and shifting light levels it never looks quite the same.
