About this event
The Save Whipsiderry Cliffs group invite the Cornwall community to join them for a fantastic day of top-quality music, comedy & family activities at the beautiful Lusty Glaze Beach.
Headlining the event are A Blaze Of Feather. Renowned for their cinematic alt-folk sound, songwriter Mickey Smiths music carries the unmistakable influence of his homeland in West Cornwall. This stripped back set is going to be a spectacular showcase of one of Cornwall’s favourite musicians.
Joining them on the bill are Cornwall’s own Wille & The Bandits, a highly charged, critically acclaimed 4-piece playing a variety of genres spanning blues, rock & folk. They’re considered one of Europe’s finest live bands and have taken their show around the world building a solid reputation as stage-takers and heartbreakers.
They will be joined by South-west 6-piece Land Of The Giants; their music fuses many styles, from rock to reggae, ska to blues, with a sub heavy helping of dub in the mix. Their live shows are renowned for foot-stomping, high energy entertainment.
Also on the bill is Newquay’s own Daisy Clarke, who, armed with her guitar, will be captivating the crowd with her unique vocals.
Alongside the live music, taking to the stage is local favourite, Kernow King, who’ll be entertaining the crowd with his unique style of Cornish comedy. We also welcome local collective Sprout Spoken, who’ll be bringing an alternative style of poetry and spoken word to the event.
As well as music & comedy, there will be family fun & activities including survival skills from Under The Canopy, The Cornish Merpods, face-painting & much more, bringing a true family festival vibe to this unique event.
The event aims to raise funds to support the Save Whipsiderry Cliffs legal campaign; the group are fighting to prevent the destruction of the natural environment at Whipsiderry Cliffs and the planned infill of the sea-caves on the beach with concrete.
