Family Fun at Home This February Half Term with National Maritime Museum Cornwall

National Maritime Museum Cornwall is teaming up with Bristol based Explorer Dome to help keep families entertained this February half term. There is a packed schedule of online events and activities throughout the week including digital trails, space themed crafting and a live and interactive science show.

Available throughout the week, and beyond, an online trail will guide families through space, asking the ultimate question – do aliens really exist? Find out interesting facts, watch science demonstrations and unearth the incredible links between space and our oceans.

On Friday 19 February at 11am join the team from Explorer Dome for a free live online show. This fun interactive show will take a closer look at our solar system – discover how stars and planets are formed and what is takes for a planet to be able to support life. You can book your space for free via the Museum’s website.

Tune into the Museum’s Facebook page each day at 11am and take part in live Make and Take crafting sessions with Sophie, the Museum’s Learning Officer. Each day there will be a different space themed craft activity using everyday objects and bits of scrap from around the home.

Sophie Stanley-Butcher said, ‘lockdown has been tough for families and we hope our February half term activities provide a bit of fun for everyone. We’ve really missed being open and sharing our spaces with young people so this is the next best thing’.
