To celebrate the huge coastal street art mural that adorns the side of SeaSpace, the man behind the brush, local contemporary artist, creative ambassador and all-around community legend, Phil Strugnell is hosting an Artist in Residence at SeaSpace during the Be Newquay Festival.

As part of this, residency SeaSpace guests and the local community are invited to join Phil at Project 83 in Newquay town centre to create their own individual abstract collage inspired by typography, abstraction and street art, which will culminate in the works being presented at Project 83 throughout Be Newquay Festival. Music by The Sounds of Sunday DJ’s.

This workshop is part of Be Newquay Festival – a new season of events, activities and workshops that celebrate Newquay’s culture and creative spirit. Throughout each weekend in November, the festival will be taking place at various venues across the town. Find out what else is on the programme here. Join us and be creatively curious.

The Be Newquay Festival has been curated by Cornwall Council project ‘Experience Newquay’ in collaboration with local project partners Love Newquay and Visit Newquay. It is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
