About this event
Philip Larkin’s mistress and muse Monica Jones’ secrets were hidden in the uncatalogued papers, which drew researcher Susan Walker to Hull archives when assisting Professor John Sutherland with his book Monica Jones, Philip Larkin and Me. There she found a treasure trove of information – and one that, for the first time, revealed a very different story about Monica’s life.
After reading English Lit at London, Susan Walker’s career was in the journalism, communications, engagement research field. She is author of a business book and written many articles about communication and family research. Susan has been on the Oxford Literary and Thame Literary Festivals where she chaired and organised events. She has presented at worldwide conferences including New York, Vancouver, Moscow and Bangalore. An accredited business communicator, Susan is a Freeman of the City of London and volunteer co-ordinator for the Livery Company of Communicators.
