About this event
For over 40 years Cornwall has been an inspiration for the paintings, prints and drawings of sibling artists Carolyn and Blaise Thompson. Although they were brought up in London, (with two artists for parents), an abiding theme of their childhood was the landscape of the Southwest. Their mother’s family lived and farmed on the border of Cornwall and Devon. A lifetime of family visits and many camping holidays, laid the foundations for a deep and profound connection to Cornwall. This exhibition is a celebration of two artists with different visual interpretations arising from the same shared starting point.
Carolyn lives and works on The Lizard peninsula. Inspired by daily walks in the landscape, her work re-maps the rythmns, space and scale of the terrain.

Blaise is a London based artist and a regular visitor to Cornwall. Through his use of colour and graphic imagery such as maps, signs and ephemera, he stirs memories and emotions that evoke a sense of place.

Both artists will be in the gallery during the show and look forward to welcoming all visitors.
