About this event
Join folk singer and choir leader Claire Ingleheart and learn some shanties and songs of the sea and land, both traditional and contemporary. Hear the stories of inspirational women of Cornwall in song, including local hero Ann Glanville.
This event will be a combination of listening to the stories of inspirational Cornish women and a chance to learn songs of old and new, taught in a friendly and welcoming workshop. We’ll also have the opportunity to add additional verses to shanties to give them a more contemporary twist! No previous experience necessary as all songs will be taught ‘by ear’.
This event is suitable for adults & young people age 12+.
This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Community Renewal Fund in Cornwall.
