About this event
Join Wadebridge Choral Society for an uplifting summer evening of music with a programme that offers something for everyone—from lyrical choral works to rousing, familiar tunes, marking 40 years of singing with a celebration of Time & Tide. This memorable evening will feature a varied and atmospheric programme celebrating the sea, honouring Cornwall’s rich maritime traditions alongside the choir’s 40 years of musical achievement.
The programme will feature Alec Rowley’s The Sailor’s Garland, a charming and expressive collection capturing the spirit and storytelling tradition of life at sea. The audience will also enjoy George Dyson’s Four Songs for Sailors, a set of vivid and characterful pieces that bring to life the adventures, hardships, and camaraderie of seafarers. Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, the choir will also perform a lively selection of traditional sea shanty favourites.
Time & Tide: Songs of the Sea will be held on Saturday 25th July at 6.30pm in Wadebridge Town Hall. The concert will be conducted by Musical Director Nicholas Danks, with Stephen Tyrrell accompanying. Advance tickets are priced at £12.50 (under 16s £5) and are available online at www.wadebridgechoral.org.uk/concerts-events/ or from Wadebridge Bookshop. Tickets will also be available on the door for £14.
