Wastelands to Wonderlands: sow and grow!

Aren’t seeds amazing? Tiny natural vessels that contain all the magical DNA of their mother plant – mind blowing!

Drop into Kresen Kernow and join artist Vicki Aimers to plant your very own sunflower seed. Learn how to make a simple concertina book – a special diary to record your seedling as it grows. Magical!

Artist Vicki Aimers is in residence with us from Saturday 28 May to Wednesday 1 June. Her residency is inspired by Catherine Payton Phillips, a Quaker Minister who lived in Redruth in the late 1700s, after travelling extensively around the world. She had a love for doing good for others. Catherine wanted to make sure that local people were never hungry by having the idea of growing fruit trees on local wasteland.

Details

Kresen Kernow is fully wheelchair and pushchair accessible, with lifts to all levels and automatic main entrance doors. Accessible toilets are available on both floors, with a fully-equipped Changing Places toilet also available on the ground floor. Separate baby changing facilities are also available on the ground floor. If you are arriving by vehicle, there are six accessible parking spaces at the Tesco side of the building and a level entrance into the building. If you are arriving on foot or wheels, from Redruth town centre, the closest entrance is at the end of the public path which runs through the old brewery site, from Chapel Street to Kresen Kernow.
