About this event
A late afternoon open event for Devon and Cornwall creative businesses, freelance creatives, place makers and enterprises to come together. There will be some keynote presentations and panel conversations about social impact measuring, the Creative UK manifesto, the future role of cultural and creative activity in place shaping / local authority strategy, and how to collectively position within the Great South West.
Participants will be invited to gather at the Buttermarket and experience the newly renovated heritage site in action as it opens to the public for the first time. The group will then head to The Ladder for food, drinks and discussion around the topic of public art spaces, community need, economic models and social impact.
The evening will be rounded off with a option to attend the Diaspora Disco at the Buttermarket – a celebration of world music and Cornwall’s multicultural past and present; an event inspired by the countries where Cornwall’s globetrotting mining community shared their skills, settled and returned from with big ideas and exotic flavours. Gold rush pioneers, silver seekers and super blasters – all are welcome at this vibrant celebration of cultures.
