About this event
As part of the ‘Sprout and About’ season, SproutSpoken is delighted to be popping up in the beautiful surroundings of the brilliant Newquay Orchard.
With plenty of space for the popular open mic slots, the evening will be a celebration of spoken word, music and art with a feature spot from the fabulous Rebecca Tantony.
The wonderful terraces will set the scene for a delightful evening of connection, community and creativity – and the Canteen will be on hand with their tasty fare both before the event and at the interval. Why not come for a pre-show meal or drinks, explore and relax in the orchard?
Fancy standing up to share… we love welcoming people to have a go at sharing their own work – get in touch with us if you’d like to reserve a slot: [email protected]
Rebecca Tantony leads a writing workshop earlier in the day, so why not get along and try out your work in the evening at the event!
Rebecca is a writer and facilitator driven to understand the messy and wild human experience in greater depth. She has been commissioned by Radio 4, read her work on the BBC and her writing has been described as ‘Mesmerising’ in the Guardian. She has performed in numerous venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, the Natural History Museum and Southbank Centre. She has also performed at music and literary festivals throughout the UK, and poetry readings have taken her to Turkey, Romania, America, Sweden and South Africa.
