About this event
On 9th-11th September, make your way to The Boathouse down in Newquay Harbour. With music and entertainment, demos and more, this year’s mini Fish Festival is going to be a blast!
And at 2.15pm on Sunday 11th September, catch a specially-formed SproutSpoken Collective – featuring Mimi, Kev Mud and Hannah Temme – performing at The Boathouse Stage.
___
Mimi is an actor and performer with a degree in Acting from the Arts University Bournemouth and an MA in Creative Writing from Exeter University. After stumbling upon SproutSpoken and being supported and encouraged to perform at one of their evenings, spoken word has turned into a fun new adventure for Mimi, allowing her love of performing and writing to come to life on pop up stages and spaces around Cornwall! She recently won Cornwall Comedian of the Year and was seen at Boardmasters amongst other festivals through Summer 2022.
Kev Mud is obscure and hairy – just like that stray dog you wanted to keep when you were a kid, but your mum said no, because it accidentally knocked over a vase and relieved itself on the sofa. Touching on subjects such as man boobs, facial hair, and the Son of God, he also has poems that aren’t autobiographical, is dashingly handsome and definitely didn’t write this himself.
Hannah Temme is a poet, spoken word performer and community arts producer, whose words explores the interconnectedness between femininity and the natural world, the importance of highlighting climate breakdown, and the human experience of our shifting awareness.
